Video: Kiev bagpiper plays on during riots

AN astonishing video has emerged from the Ukraine, showing a man playing the bagpipes whilst the riots in Kiev rage on around him.

The short clip, which lasts for around half a minute, contains footage of running battles in the Ukrainian capital interspersed with the bearded piper.

Towards the beginning, he plays well-known tune Bonnie Galloway as protesters hurl missiles behind him, and at one point turns around to survey the carnage going on around him.

Dressed in black, he stands in front of what appear to be burning vehicles.

There is a Ukrainian bagpipe - called the Volynka - which is often used in traditional music, but the man appears to be playing bagpipes similar to those played in Scotland.
