Video: Adorable ducklings follow mother into water

A CLIP of a brood of young ducklings tentatively surveying a body of water before eventually being coaxed to follow their mother has become an internet hit.

Brian Mitchell, a finance worker at Queen Margaret University in Musselburgh, Midlothian, captured the fleet of ducklings on campus grounds last week. Nearly 9,500 people have shared the 90-second video.

Mitchell, commenting on his Facebook page, said: “The video is brilliant, I was out at the pond eating my lunch and I just saw the duck coming down the steps with the chicks, great to see that happen live.”
