Victim of A93 car crash named

A YOUNG woman died following a car crash, police said today.

The victim was named by police as Laura Campbell from Blairgowrie.

The 22-year-old died in hospital following the smash on the A93.

She was a passenger in a blue Toyota MR2 which was travelling north when it was in collision with a green Ford Explorer going towards Perth close to Balboughty Cottages yesterday afternoon.

The woman, who has not yet been named by police, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where she died of her injuries.

The A93 was closed in both directions while emergency services and road traffic investigators attended the scene.

Police said the woman's family had asked for privacy while they told relatives about her death.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Tayside police.
