Vet school in from fringe

THE Royal (Dick) Vet School's old operating theatres, lecture halls and office spaces have been transformed into a Fringe venue after being taken over.

Rupert Thomson, the figure behind the Roxy Art House in recent years, secured the B-listed building at the 11th hour before the 2011 programme deadline in April.

He is preparing to run up to 20 shows each day in nine performance spaces, as well as a "Damien Hirst-style" bar in the former dissection room, where animals in glass cases line the walls.
