Verdict awaited in Suzanne Pilley murder trial

A VERDICT is still awaited in the Suzanne Pilley murder trial, after the jury was sent home for a second night yesterday.David Gilroy, 49, denies murdering Ms Pilley, 38, by unknown means on 4 May, 2010, but will have to wait longer to learn his fate.

The jury deliberated all day yesterday, added to half a day on Tuesday.

Trial judge Lord Bracadale adjourned overnight and said deliberations would resume at the High Court in Edinburgh this morning.

It is alleged Gilroy, of Silverknowes Brae, Edinburgh, hid Ms Pilley’s body in the premises of Infrastructure Managers Limited, in Thistle Street, Edinburgh, where they both worked, before transporting it in the boot of his car to various locations across Scotland.

Ms Pilley’s remains have not yet been found.
