Veg on rise in Good Life trend

ALMOST a quarter of people have embraced the Good Life to grow their own vegetables.

A survey in the gardening magazine published by consumer group Which? has shown that 24 per cent of people are saving money through cultivating food in their own gardens, as the price of food in the shops rises.

A total of 59 per cent of people said they wanted to save money by growing their own produce, like in the 1970s TV series. A third said they wanted to live more healthily.

The most popular products were tomatoes, herbs, potatoes, strawberries and raspberries.
