Uzbekistan forces out rights group

Uzbekistan has forced Human Rights Watch to shut its local office, the group said yesterday, calling for tougher US and European Union policies towards the Central Asian state.

President Islam Karimov, 73, has run Uzbekistan for two decades, brooking no dissent to his rule.
