US: Burglars snort stolen ashes

Burglars in Florida snorted the cremated remains of a man and two dogs in the belief they had stolen illegal drugs.

The ashes were taken from a woman's home in the town of Silver Springs Shores on 15 December. The two urns contained the ashes of the woman's father and her two Great Danes.

Investigators learned what happened to the ashes after they arrested five people in connection with another burglary attempt nearby last week.

"The suspects snorted some of the ashes believing they were snorting cocaine," the sheriff's report said.
