US: Astronaut may stay by his injured wife

The astronaut husband of US congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords - seriously wounded when she was shot in the head - will decide by mid-February whether to join the final Nasa shuttle launch, the space agency said yesterday.

Mark Kelly has been on leave to tend to his wife since the 8 January attack in Tucson which killed six and wounded 13.
