Unsung hero Robert hailed as inspiration

Port of Leith Housing Association tenant and voluntary board member Robert McPherson has been named the community's unsung hero.

Despite being restricted by MS, he uses forehead movement and assistive technology to undertake most activities.

Mr McPherson remains an active member of the board and is the lead member for housing management and property maintenance services.

PoLHA nominated Mr McPherson for the award in recognition of his dedication since joining the board a decade ago.

Jack Hunter, chair of PoLHA, said: "Robert inspires us all by his refusal to let his difficulties stop him from making his significant contribution to the community of Leith.

"His positive approach is underlined with a forceful good humour and intelligence, which impresses everyone."
