University hosts climate talks

CLIMATE change, environment and energy experts will be taking part in a conference at Heriot-Watt University to come up with ways of tackling risk in these areas.

Heriot-Watt is at the forefront of research to provide solutions for the reduction and management of risk and Thursday's event will bring together academic experts, leading figures from industry and government agency speakers.

Dr Mike Cox, director of Knowledge Exchange, and the conference organiser, said: "Our goal is to stimulate debate across a range of disciplines.

"Delegates will share their experience of what mitigating the effects of climate change might mean for business, reducing the environmental impact on us and how the challenges in energy exploration, extraction and delivery will affect energy generation and supply."
