Universities on shortlist for awards

TWO city universities have been shortlisted in this year’s Times Higher Education Awards.

Edinburgh University has been shortlisted for Entrepreneurial University of the Year and Outstanding Support for Early Career Researchers, while Heriot-Watt University has been shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to Leadership Development.

Hundreds of institutions, departments and individuals submitted nominations across 18 categories, ranging from Research Project of the Year to Most Innovative Teacher of the Year.

The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on November 29.

John Gill, Times Higher Education editor, said: “The resilience and strength of UK higher education in the face of great uncertainty and change over the past few years has been quite remarkable.”
