Ulster firm wins £14m Torry Quay job

ABERDEEN Harbour Board yesterday awarded a £14 million contract to construction company McLaughlin & Harvey in the first phase of a massive redevelopment of the port's Torry Quay.

The firm, based in Northern Ireland, will carry out the initial stage of a three-phase redevelopment project worth 30m.

The contract, which will take 18 months to complete, will include the demolition of existing wharves at Torry Quay and the construction of 300 metres of new quays designed to cater for modern ships and heavy cargoes.
