UK’s youngest mother suffers double tragedy

THE UK’s ­youngest mum from, West Lothian, has been hit by a double tragedy.

In just a few heartbreaking days, 19-year-old Tressa Middleton from Bathgate, who shocked the country by getting pregnant at 11 after being raped endured a miscarriage and her mother’s death.

Speaking days after she 
was due to give birth, the 
teenager says the double 
tragedy has made her more determined than ever to find happiness.

She says: “Even though I’m devastated, my fiancé Darren is my rock and I’m ­concentrating on our future.

“We’re hoping to move to a bigger house and we both want more kids.

“We’ll get married, too. I’m not letting any of this put me off my goal of happiness.”

She added: “I know that having my own family will help me to heal all the pain of the last few years.”

Tressa had been due to give birth on Tuesday. The child she had when she was 12 in 2006 has since been adopted.
