UK to the four in 'most admired' league

The UK has retained fourth place in the annual league table of the world's most admired countries, it was revealed today.

The United States stayed top, with Germany second, France third, the UK fourth and Japan fifth in the 50-nation list. The Anholt-GfK Roper Nation Brands Index was compiled from the views of 20,000 adults from 20 countries.

VisitBritain chief executive Sandie Dawe said: "This result is a testament to the enduring appeal of Britain. With more governments recognising tourism as a driver of growth and ramping up their international marketing, it is striking that our ratings are remaining steady."
