Yes Scotland group ‘must target City’
The independence campaign should focus its attack on the City of London which “exploits” the UK’s resources and draws power away from the nations and regions, according to a former SNP leader.
The City is both the cause of and the prime beneficiary of the UK financial collapse, said Gordon Wilson who led the party in the 1980s. Its grip on the UK’s power and wealth is the “soft underbelly” of the Unionist campaign, he said.
“The grip of the London octopus is so powerful the rest of the UK exists to serve it regardless. If Scotland votes No, the resources of the English north, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland will continue be exploited for the benefit of London,” he said.
