Woman arrested in mephedrone seizure

A WOMAN from the London area has been arrested following the seizure of more than £30,000 of mephedrone in Aberdeen.

The drug, popularly known as "m-cat" or "bubbles", was reclassified as a class-B drug last month.

A police spokesman said that the mephedrone, with a street value of 31,000, had been recovered on Sunday night in central Aberdeen by officers of the recently formed Grampian Police Major Investigation Team.

"A 20-year-old woman from the London area has been arrested and a report has been sent to the procurator-fiscal," the spokesman said.
