In the first episode of The Scotsman’s new ‘Weekend Bigots’ podcast, Kevan Christie interviews sports journalist Andrew Smith, who talks about the historical context to the rivalry between Rangers and Celtic.
They discuss how Irish-Catholic immigrants were originally unwelcome in Glasgow and other cities in Scotland, which is why they set up Hibernian in Edinburgh in 1875 then Celtic in 1888.
