Warders call for stab vests

PRISON officers today called for the routine issuing of stab vests after three warders were assaulted by an inmate using a shard of glass.

Colin Moses, chairman of the Prison Officers Association, said the attack at Frankland jail in County Durham on Saturday highlighted the violence prison officers faced on a daily basis.
