Video: Kelvingrove organist pays tribute to Hillsborough victims

GLASGOW'S Kelvingrove Museum has paid tribute to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster with a rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone.

The organist at the Glasgow attraction brought museum visitors to a standstill when he played the show tune made famous in the 1960s when recorded by Gerry and the Pacemakers and now synonymous with Liverpool FC.

The inquests into the Hillsborough tragedy - Britain’s worst footballing disaster - concluded on Tuesday that the 96 victims were unlawfully killed.

Liverpool were playing Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-final at the Hillsborough stadium in 1989 when a crush in the Leppings Lane stand resulted in 96 deaths and 766 others injured.

A video of the Kelvingrove organist went viral earlier this year when he played Life on Mars? in tribute to the late David Bowie.
