Unpaid placements rise as bosses 'exploit' interns

INTERNS are being "exploited", having to do unpaid work or menial tasks such as running errands or even booking holidays for their boss, according to a new report today.

The TUC said it feared one in three people on an internship was not being paid despite a big increase in the number and range of placements, particularly during the recession.

The TUC has launched a new website, rightsforinterns.org.uk, explaining what rights interns should expect.
