Unions used £2.5m of taxpayer cash abroad

A GOVERNMENT department has given £2.58 million to the Trades Union Congress (TUC) over the last eight years.

Junior international development minister Mike Foster said the money had enabled the TUC to support "basic political freedoms" in countries like Iraq.
