UK debut for balloon race

THE world's oldest aviation event – a prestigious gas balloon race – will take off from the UK for the first time, it was announced today.

Balloonists from across the world will compete in the 54th Coupe Aeronautique Gordon Bennett race – a contest to fly the furthest distance in a gas balloon.
