Two charged with cruelty to monkey

TWO people have appeared in court charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a young monkey at their home.

Lee Powell, 50, and Julie Jones, 41, denied four charges brought under the Animal Welfare Act at Dudley Magistrates’ Court. The defendants, of Stourbridge, West Midlands, are alleged to have failed to ensure the animal’s needs were met.
