Traffic protesters cause road delays

Dorset:Protesters fighting increasing traffic in their village caused delays after they repeatedly pressed the button on a pedestrian crossing, police said.

The group of 15 activists, led by retired aircraft fitter Tony Fuller, held up the traffic for 45 minutes on the A35 in Chideock with the peaceful protest.

• London: A number of male youths were being questioned today over the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy during a disturbance at a recreation ground. The teenager died after being attacked in Sydenham, south London, yesterday afternoon.
