Toyota cars recalled over faulty switch
• In UK, RAV4, Yaris and Auris recalled
• Recall affects models from 2005 - 2010
The move by the Japanese manufacturer affects more than seven million vehicles worldwide, including 138,000 RAV4, Yaris and Auris models sold in Britain and built between September 2006 and December 2008.
This setback comes two years after the firm recalled over eight million vehicles, including 200,000 in the UK, over brake problems. Toyota said the switch on the driver’s side had not had grease applied evenly during production, causing friction and sometimes smoke.

Hide AdA spokesman said: “The electric window switch, or power window master switch, may over time begin to feel uneven or notchy when it is operated. Continued operation in this condition may cause the switch to stick or become inoperable.”
