Tory MP accidentally tweets porn link

A CONSERVATIVE MP has inadvertantly tweeted a link to a pornography site - despite tighter controls being placed on Tory politicians’ use of Twitter.

Rob Wilson, MP for Reading East, had intended to link a blog post discussing an interview with Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith.

But followers who clicked on the link were led to a site promising live “live sex shows” instead.

Blame for the incident was apportioned to Tory party headquarters, who sent a shortened version of the story to Mr Wilson posted it.

The tweet was supposed to direct followers to political blog Guido Fawkes, which carried a story about a complaint made against the BBC by fellow Tory MP Dominic Raab concerning a caller who challenged Smith over whether he could live on £53 a week.

Tory politicians have been urged in recent weeks to be more careful in their use of social media.

Mr Wilson said of the incident: “CCHQ (Conservative Campaign HQ) has apologised and I regard the matter as closed.”
