Top GB team cyclist Hannah Mayho undergoes surgery after car collision

CYCLIST Hannah Mayho was recovering in a Belgian hospital yesterday following surgery after five members of the Great Britain women's cycling team were involved in a road accident yesterday.

Mayho, right, was hit directly by a car pulling out of a junction on Friday, while Lucy Martin, Katie Colclough, Emma Trott and Sarah Reynolds were also involved in the collision.

Mayho's injuries were confirmed yesterday, with X-rays showing the 19-year-old from Bradford broke one leg and not both, as previously feared.

Lincolnshire's Colclough, who is also 20, suffered concussion.

Trott, 20, and 18-year-old Reynolds suffered a broken collarbone and cut chin, respectively.
