Thousands silent for stadium fire's dead

UP TO 2,000 people stood in silence yesterday to mark the 25th anniversary of the Bradford City fire disaster, in which 56 football fans died.

Bradford's Centenary Square was a mass of claret and amber scarves and shirts as survivors and supporters marked the anniversary with an outdoor service. The tragedy happened at the Valley Parade ground on 11 May, 1985.
