Thieves like to stay local

CRIMINALS have their own distinctive "local haunts" when committing crime.

New research out today found that robbers, burglars and car thieves have specific geographical areas they favour when committing crime and these are relatively unique from one offender to the next.

It is hoped the findings will help police hone their searches.
