Thieves fiddle their way into apartment

A RARE 18th-century violin worth £140,000 has been stolen from its owner’s flat in London.

The instrument, a Nicola Gagliano dating back to 1747, is thought to be one of only three in the world.

Its 31-year-old owner returned to his home in New Cross, south-east London, at 10:45 pm on Wednesday night to find the door forced open.
