Ted Hughes to get Poets' Corner honour

FORMER Poet Laureate Ted Hughes is to be honoured with a permanent memorial in Poets' Corner at Westminster Abbey.

The tribute reinforces his position as one of the most significant 20th century poets and will put him alongside icons like William Wordsworth.

Yorkshire-born Hughes, who was Poet Laureate for 14 years, died in 1998.
