Talent judges hit Scotland hoping for another Susan Boyle

THE Britain's Got Talent judges arrived in Scotland yesterday hoping to discover the next Susan Boyle.

Hundreds of people queued for hours in the hope of catching a glimpse of Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden at Glasgow's SECC on the first day of this year's auditions.

The judges arrived separately in true showbiz-style in a stream of top-of-the-range maroon Jaguars.

Piers Morgan was first to be greeted by the crowd. He arrived to a warm welcome at about 1pm and promptly revealed his New Year resolution.

He said: "This year I plan to find someone like Susan Boyle – and be her manager." He added: "It's great to be back in Scotland and, in all seriousness, we can hopefully find another talent like Susan."

Cowell arrived ten minutes later, followed by Holden, who was dressed in tartan, a mini-skirt and Christian Louboutin stilettos. Holden said: "I'm very nervous and very excited at the same time. I've been waiting for this since last year and, of course, being in Scotland I hope that the next Susan Boyle will be waiting to audition."

Last year, West Lothian's Boyle, 48, sang I Dreamed a Dream from the musical Les Misrables, which propelled her to global fame as news of her performance spread like wildfire worldwide via the internet.
