Spanish police hold British ‘paedophile’

A PAEDOPHILE suspect has been arrested in Spain more than ten years after failing to turn up for trial in Britain.

The 60-year-old – named by sources as Lewis Knight – went missing in 2000 while he was due to appear at Bristol Crown Court for a string of sex offences against children. He was wanted in connection with allegations of sex abuse in Bath dating back to 1996.

Knight was arrested in a small town between Zaragoza and Barcelona last Tuesday. He appeared in court the following day.

Avon and Somerset Police are negotiating for him to be sent back to Britain.
