Seaside towns to benefit from government money
RECESSION-HIT seaside towns are to share in a £5 million government effort to boost employment, business and skills, it was announced today.
Ministers are targeting 25 coastal areas with the cash as part of a wider regeneration strategy published by Communities Secretary John Denham.
Stronger powers for councils to deal with low-quality housing, efforts to secure lottery cash to do up historic piers and publicity campaigns are also included.
