Scrappage scheme hits used-car sales

USED-CAR sales fell to their lowest level for nearly a decade last year, new figures revealed yesterday. Annual sales fell by 5.7 per cent during 2009 to 6,798,864 vehicles, the worst since 2000, when 6,713,269 changed hands.
