The Thomas Cook flight, en route from Glasgow to Dalaman on Turkey’s south west coast, diverted to London Gatwick Airport after reporters of at least two passengers involved in trouble on the aircraft.

Eyewitnesses said that several police officers boarded the plane after it arrived at Gatwick.

One man was taken off the plane by the officers and is believed to be in custody following the incident, on suspicion of being drunk on board an aeroplane.
