Samsung S4 launch: Twitter preview image released

SAMSUNG Mobile US have unveiled a teaser image of their new S4 handset on Twitter.

Though most of the phone is obscured by shadow, the top of the handset bears the technology firm’s logo and looks slightly larger than the Samsung S3.

The tweet posted by the company read: “The countdown for #TheNextBigThing has begun. Who’s ready for the Global Unpacked Event on March 14?”

Leaked pictures of what is widely believed to be the new S4 were released on a Chinese forum yesterday.

Among the innovations rumoured for the handset is a screen that scrolls by a user’s eye movement, tracked by a camera on the front of the handset.

Wireless charging capability, a 13-megapixel camera with the ability to take 360 degree pictures, and a 5-inch, 1080x1920 pixel display with 480 pixel-per-inch density are among the other features expected.

EE, the UK’s only provider of 4G, confirmed the handset would operate on its network.

Samsung expects handset sales to reach 10 million per month.
