Rugby legends touch down

THE clocks are being turned back a few decades at the weekend as the Scottish Legends rugby team goes up against the French Legends in aid of charity.

The match takes place at Boroughmuir Rugby Club on Saturday in aid of the Tryumph for Teenage Cancer Trust in a precursor to Scotland's first Six Nations match the following day.

Scott Hastings, former Scotland player and president of Scottish Legends RFC, said: "The last time the two sides met in Paris last year, the Scottish Legends narrowly defeated their hosts, so I'm pretty sure they'll be hoping to turn the tables this time around."

The U17s international seven-a-side festival will also take place before the Legends' match, with eight teams vying for the Polaris-Tryumph Trophy.

Tickets for the event cost 5 and are available on the day or by contacting Don McPherson on [email protected]
