Royal Mail fails to deliver on targets

Royal Mail narrowly missed its delivery targets in the spring, but more than nine out of ten first and second-class letters were delivered on time in recent weeks.

The company missed its first-class next-day target of 93 per cent by 1.6 per cent in the three months to June, and its second-class three-day delivery target of 98.5 per cent by just 0.1 per cent.
