Retirement law rethink call

CAMPAIGNERS today called for retirement laws to be scrapped after research showed that 100,000 people were forced to stop work at around the age of 65 last year.

Age Concern and Help the Aged said use of the legislation had soared during the recession, with employers using it as a "cheap and easy alternative" to redundancy.
