Raymond Blanc breaks leg in house fall

MICHELIN-STARRED chef Raymond Blanc was taken to hospital after falling down the stairs at his Oxford home yesterday.

The chef, 60, who is back on the small screen with his first cookery programme in 13 years, broke his leg in the fall.

His fiance, Russian-born doctor Natalia Traxel, called paramedics to the house.

Blanc, famed for his flagship Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons restaurant, was expected to have an operation yesterday.

It is thought the chef is being treated at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford.

Blanc, who moved to Britain from France in 1972, is sharing his tips, techniques and recipes on BBC2 in Raymond Blanc's Kitchen Secrets.
