£135,000 bill for away-days

The Department for Business Innovation and Skills has spent more than £135,000 on away- days for civil servants since the general election, the UK government said last night.

Some 2,815 people took part in 64 events run by the department, according to figures released to Labour MP Luciana Berger.

Ms Berger requested the information after earlier discovering £72,800 was spent on away-days by the Department for Energy and Climate Change.
