Proud day for Michael Jackson’s children as Hollywood pays tribute

MICHAEL Jackson’s children shared a joke and a smile as their late father was honoured at a ceremony in Hollywood.

Blanket, nine, Prince, 14, and Paris, 13, pressed his shoes and a sequined glove into cement to leave a lasting monument in the courtyard of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

More than 100 fans of the King of Pop were in attendance, including Canadian star Justin Bieber, Jackson’s former musical producer Quincy Jones, who worked with him on the Thriller album, Motown legend Smokey Robinson and comedian Chris Tucker.

Jackson’s mother, Katherine thanks the crowd.

“It’s a very good celebration,” she said. “And I know if Michael was here he would agree – to see all the friends and loved ones and especially his fans here to celebrate this with him.”

Jackson died on 25 June, 2009, at the age of 50 from an overdose of the powerful anaesthetic Propofol.

His personal physician, Dr Conrad Murray, was jailed for four years after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter for administering the sedative.
