Playstation 4 goes on sale in UK

The launch follows Microsoft’s release of the Xbox One console last week, following months of intense scrutiny and speculation over the specifications and features of the two new systems.
High street chain GAME said that demand for the PS4 - which retails at around £350 - was four times the level enjoyed by the previous-generation PS3 when it debuted in 2007.

“To speak to some of the guys lining up outside, just sensing their enthusiasm and excitement for a new platform, is really what it’s all about. It’s why we come to work every day.”
Fergal Gara, managing director of PlayStation, said: “The response to the PS4 has been phenomenal and we are so grateful for the support and enthusiasm we have seen from gamers who have pre-ordered, as well as those who have shown such dedication in the queue.”
