Pippa Middleton dropped by agent after book flops

PIPPA Middleton has been dropped by her literary agent David Godwin following dismal sales of her debut book.

Middleton, sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, released ‘Celebrate’ last Christmas after reportedly receiving a £400,000 publisher’s advance.

The book sold just 2000 copies in its first week. In addition to selling poorly the book was slammed by critics for its overly simplistic advice, which included tips on how to make ice and the hint that “because of their size, turkeys are perfect for feeding large gatherings”.

The book’s cover price was cut from £25 to £6.25 by one high-street retailer in the run up to Christmas.

Godwin told The Daily Mail last night: “I am very sorry it has happened, but yes, it is true: I no longer represent Pippa and I wish her every good luck.”

The Middleton family own and operate ‘Party Pieces’, a successful party planning and supplies company.

Pippa’s writing career appears to be far from over, as her new column in Waitrose Kitchen magazine - Pippa’s Friday Night Feasts - begins next month.
