Patients follow-up care cuts heart attacks

PATIENTS taken to hospital with chest pains are 21 per cent less likely to suffer a heart attack if they see a cardiologist within a month of their discharge, research shows.

The research, published in the medical journal Circulation, says that the study highlights the importance of follow-up care for chest pain patients. Chest pain is the most common reason for people to go to A&E.
