Paralympian becomes a 'people's baroness'

Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson took her place in the House of Lords yesterday as a "people's peer".

Baroness Grey-Thompson is Britain's most successful Paralympian, with 11 gold medals in wheelchair racing, as well as seven golds in world championships. She has set 30 world records in her career.
