One-two for coalition in delayed Thirsk poll

CONSERVATIVE and Liberal Democrat candidates have secured first and second places in the delayed General Election poll in Thirsk and Malton.

Anne McIntosh won the seat for the Tories with 20,167 votes, while Lib Dem Howard Keal beat Labour to come second, picking up 8,886 votes. in yesterday's poll.
