Olympic blackout on Iranian servers

THE Iranian regime appeared to have blocked the official London 2012 Olympic Games, it was reported last night.

Iranian residents apparently tweeted that they were unable to access the london2012.com site, finding themselves redirected to a one offering stories from Iran’s official news agencies.

Iran has previously threatened to boycott the Olympics on the grounds, it claimed, that the official logo spells the “Zion”, the Hebrew word used to refer to Israel or Jerusalem. The threat was subsequently withdrawn.

The regime’s leadership have recently cracked down on internet access, with citizens being warned that they will now have to show a full ID and give personal details including their names when they wish to visit an internet cage.
